I.P.L. Photo Rejuvenation also referred to as photo facials or skin rejuvenation treatments.
As we age many factors impact the appearance of our skin, sun damage, stress, fatigue, poor diet, medication and illness. With our state of the art IPL equipment we are able to safely and effectively combat the visible signs of aging.
What is IPL?
IPL stands for intense pulsed light. IPL treatments are a safe and effective, non invasive method to improve skin’s irregularities. Unlike lasers, IPL produces a broad spectrum of therapeutic light that goes deep into the skin to improve imperfections such as uneven complexion and texture irregularities. Specific amounts of filtered light are delivered through your skin’s surface to reach the appropriate targets. With our state of the art equipment we select the appropriate hand pieces to target different skin conditions. For example, for sun damaged skin, the light will penetrate the skin and will target and heat the darker damaged skin. The light energy will cause dark pigment to come to the surface of the skin and flake off. It will also help coagulate small blood vessels on the surface of your face to remove excessive redness and broken blood vessels in the skin. In addition, the I.P.L. light stimulates the production of collagen in your skin. Collagen is the building block that provides structure to your skin. This will result in a reduction in the appearance of fine lines, a skin tightening effect as well as pore minimization.
What does the IPL treat?

What can I expect at my consultation?
Every client is scheduled for a complimentary consultation. At that time a comprehensive health history form is completed and reviewed for any contraindications. You will learn about the skin and how the IPL treats your specific skin condition. We will also customize a treatment plan for you along with all of your pricing options. You will be given pre and post treatment instructions so you will be informed about how to care for the treatment area before and after your first treatment. We offer 3 and 5 package discounts as well as interest free, patient financing.
What types of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, checks, MasterCard, Visa, Discover and Care Credit. Care Credit is a payment solution that offers 0% financing for up to 12 months for those who qualify. This credit card is a revolving line of credit that also has longer repayment plans with interest. You can apply at home or in our office and it just takes a few minutes to get approved.
What can I expect my first treatment to be like?
We will cleanse your skin to remove any makeup and then we will apply a cool gel all over the treatment area. We will assess the area, select an appropriate energy setting for you, and then we will begin treatment. The IPL will feel like a heat sensation on your skin. The treatment time for an entire face is about 15 minutes. Once the treatment is completed we will cleanse your skin and apply a moisturizer and a sun screen. Makeup may be applied immediately after your treatment.
What will my skin look like right after the treatment?
For most treatments the area will look slightly pink for an hour or so. The darker spots will appear slightly darker. If you are treating any vascular irregularities you may have minimal swelling and darkening of the blood vessels. The swelling will usually dissipate within 24 hours. Makeup may be applied immediately after your treatment.
How long do the treatments take?
This is a non-invasive, no downtime quick and easy procedure! Most appointments will take just 30 minutes.
How many treatments will I need?
The majority of patients will see significant improvement after the very first treatment, however, for the full benefit of collagen stimulation and pore minimization a series of six visits is recommended. The visits are scheduled four weeks apart.
Are there any special post treatment instructions or restrictions?
This is a non-invasive, no downtime quick and easy procedure! We suggest that you refrain from sun bathing as well as tanning beds and always wear an SPF of 25 or greater. After your treatment your skin may look slightly red and feel warm for an hour or two. You should avoid all topical exfoliants and exfoliating treatments for about 10 days. You may apply makeup as usual but be sure to gently remove it at night. You will receive specific written instructions at the time of your visit.
